i can list my blogs in my profile

When I edit my profile, I find a link to choose which blogs to list in my profile.  This might serve as my 'top page' if I develop multiple blogs.  But as of now I only have this one.

In the 'simple' template I am using, my profile appears in a pane to the right of my vertical list of posts.  I imagine other templates may put it elsewhere?  Or may not show it?

I imagine if I develop other blogs, then the profile pane will appear along side each of those also.

Is there also a top level profile page which only lists the blogs?

the manual

here it is

yes, I can edit

When I view my blog, each post has a pencil icon.  When I click that, I am taken back here to the post edit screen.  It seems I can change text and formatting to my heart's content and simply update the post.

found the templates!

I was able to follow the instructions at the Google help page..

..to change the look of my blog.  Just before posting this, I set one of the 'simple' options.  It is nice. The background is grey on grey. Headings are orange. It pops.

Clean, but plain

First post went OK.  I like the clean look.  But I thought I had specified a template when I created this blog.  I expected some sort of visual something or other.

Hello world

I think I want a blog.  Maybe several-one for each of my interests.  I have some ideas about how I want it to work. But I have not made a blog before.  Nothing like rushing in where angels fear to tread.
How much control do I have over what it looks like?
How much control do I have over how it is organized?
Can I have more than one blog?
Can I link blogs together via a home page?
Are posts always chronologically ordered?
Can I index posts?
Can I edit posts after posting them?
So many questions, not enough patience to read a manual first.  Is there a manual? Maybe I will find out.  But for now, here goes.
